Best Med Spa Treatments Before Your Myrtle Beach Wedding

Weddings March 28, 2026 7 min read

Grand Strand weddings are notoriously photogenic. Whether you are getting married on the beach at Garden City, in a river ceremony at Pawleys Island, or at one of the plantation venues in Conway, the photos are going to be stunning and they will follow you for decades.

That is a good reason to feel genuinely good in them, not just well-dressed. The key is timing.

The wrong treatment at the wrong time can leave you with bruising, swelling, or skin that is still adjusting. Here is the exact timeline that gives you the best results with no surprises on your wedding day.

Six Months Out: Lay the Foundation

Six months is where the real structural work happens. If you are interested in microneedling, this is the time to start.

Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin that trigger your body's wound-healing response, producing new collagen and elastin over the following 4 to 6 weeks. The results are cumulative, so a series of three sessions spaced 4 weeks apart gives you noticeably better texture, tone, and firmness by the time your wedding day arrives.

This is also a good time to start laser hair removal if smooth skin anywhere on your body is part of the plan. Six months gives you enough sessions to see a dramatic reduction before the big day.

Three Months Out: Injectables

Three months out is the right window for Botox and dermal fillers. This timing matters for two reasons.

First, if this is your first time with either treatment, you have time for a follow-up adjustment before the wedding. Second, you will have well-established results rather than something fresh and still settling.

Botox softens the forehead lines, crow's feet, and glabellar lines that tend to be very visible in high-resolution photos. It takes 3 to 14 days to fully kick in and lasts 3 to 4 months, so a treatment at the 3-month mark means you are in peak effect on your wedding day.

Dermal fillers restore volume in cheeks and temples, smooth nasolabial folds, and can give you a lifted, rested appearance that holds up beautifully in portraits.

If you have never had injectables before, start with a conservative amount. You can always add more at a follow-up.

The goal is to look like yourself, just more refreshed.

Six Weeks Out: Resurfacing Treatments

At six weeks out, a chemical peel gives your skin enough time to complete its renewal cycle and stabilize before the wedding. A light-to-medium peel at this stage improves skin texture, evens out tone, and creates the smooth surface that makes makeup application easier.

Avoid deeper peels at this stage, as they require more downtime and the margin for error gets too narrow.

If you have any stubborn hyperpigmentation from sun exposure (common if you are a Myrtle Beach local), an IPL photofacial at the 6-week mark can clear spots and even out redness with minimal downtime. Give yourself at least 4 weeks between IPL and your wedding date.

Two Weeks Out: Glow Treatments

The two-week mark is for the finishing touches. A HydraFacial two weeks before the wedding deeply hydrates and brightens skin without any risk of irritation or downtime.

Skin looks immediately better and continues to improve over the following week as the serums do their work.

If fuller, more defined lips are part of your look, lip enhancement with hyaluronic acid filler is best done 2 to 4 weeks before the wedding. This allows any minor swelling to resolve completely while keeping results at their freshest.

The Week Before: Keep It Simple

The week before is not the time for anything new. Stick to your regular skincare routine, stay hydrated, get consistent sleep, and do a gentle facial cleanse the morning of the wedding.

Dermaplaning can be done safely up to 5 days before the wedding to ensure makeup applies flawlessly, but avoid anything with more intensity than that.
